when we arrived at lusinga station a few days ago, the entire ranger team and their families came out to greet us at the airfield. they are far from anywhere out here, and visitors are a big big deal. especially visitors who arrive by zebra-striped plane!
even after we moved into the camp area and away from the airfield, the welcome wagon kept celebrating... and the party raged until late at night, with all of us falling asleep to the sounds of ecstatic drumming and singing.
